WCCE 2021 Archive Context
This section preserves factual context about the second World Conference on Creative Economy, held in Dubai in December 2021. It is not an official continuation of that event. Read more about the independence of this resource on the about page.
Why this archive exists
The second World Conference on Creative Economy took place at Expo 2020 Dubai in December 2021. The original event website used the wcce.ae domain. Maktaba Creative currently occupies this address but holds no organisational relationship with the former conference operators or any government body. While the site is known to be independent today, the exact date and chain of any past acquisition remain unknown.
Rather than let old links break silently, these pages explain what took place, which documents survive and where researchers can find them. If you arrived here expecting the original organiser portal, you are instead reading editorial notes compiled from public records.
The 2021 conference in brief
The second World Conference on Creative Economy took place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre within Expo 2020 Dubai between 7 and 9 December 2021 (WCCE Indonesia archive). Programming covered six themes: Future Sustainable, Reworking Work, Technology Transformation, Inclusivity and Diversity, Education Unleashed and Elevating the Media and Communications Landscape.
Several distinct documents emerged from those three days. A daily conference programme outlined sessions on intellectual property, creative cities and digital creativity. Separately, participants noted a 21-point UAE WCCE 2021 Agenda produced during the event (Tita Larasati participant account). Additionally, the Creative PEC launched a Global Agenda for the Cultural and Creative Industries containing 11 key actions at the same venue (Creative PEC). These outputs should not be treated as interchangeable.
How legacy links work now
Two old PDF references associated with the historical site have no recovered originals. Neither the exact body text nor the precise identity of either file was retrieved. Historical HTML linked filenames included WCCE_2021_Agenda.pdf and a related document path. Because neither original was recovered, it cannot be asserted that either filename was definitively a programme or a UAE agenda. Both historical PDF references now lead to this contextual archive, which provides separate links to the surviving conference programme and a participant account of the UAE agenda.
Where possible, this archive maps broken paths to new contextual pages describing the missing material using independently verified sources. For example, the nine-page historical programme preserved by Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi is discussed on its own page rather than reproduced directly (PDF source). The goal is to help anyone researching Expo 2020 creative economy events locate accurate information without assuming the current domain owner represents the past organisers.
